The choosing of the type of network connection would depend upon what are you willing to do with your TiVo box and also whether it is possible to link the Ethernet cable to the TiVo TV box.

In the case, if you are willing to stream the shows to the mobile devices but not the TiVo box, then you can go for the option of using a wireless connection (Option 1). However, if you wish to stream the shows from/to the other TiVo boxes, then a wired connection could be the ideal option. Well, you can head for the Ethernet (Option 2) or MoCA option (Option 3).

You don’t need to worry, as you are free to change your mind at any time. Check out the ideal options that are available to link to the home network-

Option 1- Wireless- If you are a prime holder of TiVo Bolt/ Bolt + or TiVo Roamio Plus/Pro and willing to stream the shows to the mobile device. By using this option, you can do the following things-

The MoCA option renders the classic high-speed network connection that you get from the Ethernet cable, but it renders it through the coax wire. When you head to set up the MoCA in the home, the TiVo box can easily head on to receive the cable TV and link to the home network via a single cable. By using this option, you can do the following things-

  • Transferring of your favorite shows to/from the other DVRs.
  • Easily stream and transfer the shows to Android devices or iOS.
  • Head on to transfer the shows to/from the other TiVo boxes.

In the case, if you have already got a MoCA home network on your side, then you can also head to add your TiVo box to the network easily. If you don’t have any MoCA, then there is no issue. You can head for the other options:

  • Creating a MoCA network by using TiVo box- If you don’t have any MoCA yet, then the first option that you can go for is the creation of a MoCA with the use of TiVo box.
  • Joining an existing MoCA network- The second option which you can choose is to join any existing MoCA network easily. By choosing this option, you can easily add your TiVo boxes.
